The tool spindle is self-tracing. Lateral tolerances caused by processing or tension curvature in the workpiece or due to non-linear progression of the feed system are automatically compensated.

Tool cut-in at the start of the workpiece and cut-out at the end of the workpiece are controlled to an accuracy of 1 mm by the electronic line control system ASyMM, irrespective of the relevant throughfeed rate. Adustable from 0.5 to appr. 3 kg. The self-tracing function is effective over the entire swivel range of the unit. Extremely high sensitivity, as only the weight of the tools and the locating spindle is moved.

The device is available in the form of a ready-to-install supplementary assembly for mounting on existing adjusting systems in the machine (vertical-lateral-angular adjustment). The space requirement in the throughfeed direction is 250 mm for the monospindle and 500 mm for the twin unit with dual sanding spindles.
