In particular when processing resinous wood, the optimum service life of an abrasive can only be achieved and guaranteed where the machine is fitted with abrasive cleaning systems.
For this purpose, ARMINIUS has developed both the add-on installation for the machine and also cleaning nozzles to match individual profiles.
An individually profiled high-pressure air jet supplied by the compressed air system protects the profile abrasive from excessive heat generation and at the same time prevents it becoming clogged with particles from the panel material.
Under normal circumstances, i.e. when processing all wood and panel material types containing no resin, this dry cleaning process using compressed air is generally sufficient.
A control system with sensor technology installed at the machine to detect the start and end of each workpiece ensures the economical use of compressed air. This control system is based on a PLC with incremental line control.
A wet-dry cleaning system additionally keeps the abrasive clear of resin particles. This is required for most types of coniferous wood. In this case, the above described cleaning set-up is supplemented by a spray nozzle which adds a harmless solvent to the compressed air blasting process at intervals. This solvent mist dissolves any clogging which has already occurred on the surface of the abrasive.
The line control system is programmed so that the spray phase always coincides with a gap between workpieces. This ensures that a film of moisture falls on the abrasive only when there is no workpiece passing along the tool.
The ARMINIUS "Dry-Clean" and "Wet-Dry-Clean" cleaning systems can be installed both on throughfeed and cyclically controlled CNC machines.
